software).  Some other modifications to mon are probably necessary.
@code{mon} is considered to be at least as good as Big Brother except

It might be good to add a few other features to @code{mon}, including
``dialup'' hosts: systems that are monitored, but for which the lack of
any reply is not considered a failure.
