(#includes): Allow compilation with only Xaw. (xaw3d_arrow_scroll, xaw3d_pick_top): New variables. (xt_action_hook): Replace XAW3D by XAW. (xaw3d_jump_callback): Renamed to xaw_jump_callback. (xaw_jump_callback): Renamed from xaw3d_jump_callback. Determine epsilon dynamically and don't try to be too clever. (xaw3d_scroll_callback): Renamed to xaw_scroll_callback. (xaw_scroll_callback): Renamed from xaw3d_scroll_callback. Handle both Xaw3d with arrow-scrollbars and with Xaw-style scrollbar (using `ratio'). (x_create_toolkit_scroll_bar): Try to detect which style of Xaw3d scrollbar we have so as to set it up more optimally and to fix xaw3d_arrow_scroll and xaw3d_pick_top. (x_set_toolkit_scroll_bar_thumb): Try to maintain 2 spare pixels at the bottom of the Xaw3d scrollbar, to work around its tendency to refuse shrinking the thumb. Also make sure that `XawScrollbarSetThumb' is not ignored, using a major gross hack. (x_initialize): Init default values for xaw3d_arrow_scroll and xaw3d_pick_top.

* This directory contains the texinfo source files for the Reference
Manual, make-permuted-index, and the latest version of texinfo.tex,
which handles forms that cannot be handled by the older versions of
texinfo.tex.

* Report Lisp Manual bugs to [e-mail].  We don't read
these bug reports until it's time for a new edition.  To report other
Emacs bugs, use [e-mail].  To ask questions, use the
newsgroup gnu.emacs.help.

* The Emacs Lisp Reference Manual is quite large.  It totals around
900 pages in smallbook format; the info files total almost two
megabytes.

* You can format this manual either for Info or for printing hardcopy
using TeX.  

* You can buy nicely printed copies from the Free Software Foundation.

** This distribution contains a Makefile that you can use with GNU Make.

** HARDCOPY: A copy of the version of `texinfo.tex' that formats this
manual is included in this distribution.

The master file for formatting this manual for Tex is called
`elisp.texi'.  It contains @include commands to include all the
chapters that make up the manual.  In addition, `elisp.texi' has
the title page in a new format designed by Karl Berry, using the
@titlespec command.

To create a DVI file with a sorted index, execute the following
commands in the shell:

% ./configure
% make index.texi
% make elisp.dvi

*** To create a DVI file with a permuted index, you may experiment
with `make-permuted-index'.  

** To make an Info file, you need to install Texinfo, then run
`./configure' and `make elisp'.  To install the Info files, run
`make install'.
