(tramp-handle-file-local-copy): More local bindings. Bind results of tramp-get-{remote,local}-{de,en}coding earlier to avoid nasty "are you awake" problem. (tramp-action-password): Protect against clobbered match data. (tramp-open-connection-setup-interactive-shell): Explicitly set tramp-last-cmd-time before invoking tramp-send-command the first time. Otherwise, tramp-send-command would issue "echo are you awake" right at the first time, which is not what we want. Reported by Douglas Gray Stephens. (tramp-find-inline-encoding): Don't redirect stdout to /dev/null to avoid "chmode go-rwx" operation from "mimencode >/dev/null" as root(!), and to check the output of the decoding command. (tramp-maybe-open-connection): Don't send "are you awake" if process has died.
