|
|
34 describes the options presented under the Advanced Tab of the
|
|
35 preferences dialog.</P>
|

|
|
38 <P><U>Full Screen</U></P>
|
|
39 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Location</B>: Selects the location
|
|
40 and position of the full screen window. 'Determined by window
|
|
41 manager' will leave the window placement up to the window manager.
|
|
42 'Active screen' places the window on the same screen as the GQview
|
|
43 main window. 'Active monitor' does the same, but limits the full
|
|
44 screen window size to the monitor containing the main window. The
|
|
45 remaining choices are dependent on the multiple monitor
|
|
46 configuration.</P>
|
|
47 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Stay above other windows:</B>
|
|
48 Enable this to have GQview ask the window manager to keep the full
|
|
49 screen window above other windows. Note that the window manager may
|
|
50 ignore the request. This option is not relevant when the full screen
|
|
51 location is determined by the window manager.</P>
|
|
52 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Smooth image flip</B>: This option
|
|
53 delays the image change in full screen until the next image is
|
|
54 entirely decoded into memory, the result is a smoother transition
|
|
55 between images.</P>
|
|
56 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Disable screen saver</B>: This
|
|
57 option will execute <I>xscreensaver-command --deactivate</I> once per
|
|
58 minute to avoid the screen saver from activating when GQview is
|
|
59 displayed full screen.</P>

62 <P STYLE="font-style: normal; font-weight: medium"><U>Delete</U></P>
|
|
63 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in; font-style: normal"><B>Confirm file

64 delete</B>: Prompts for confirmation before deleting files.</P>

65 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in; font-style: normal"><B>Enable Delete

66 key</B>: Disable this to disassociate the delete file function from

67 the Delete key. This option does not effect the [Control] + D key
|

69 delete”, above, disabled so that accidentally hitting a single

72 Moves deleted files to a temporary folder, for easy retrieval of

73 deleted files. Files in the temporary folder are retained until the

74 maximum size is reached, at which point deleting additional files
|

75 will result in the removal of the oldest files to reclaim the space
|
|
76 needed for the new files.</P>
|
|
77 <P STYLE="margin-left: 1.58in; font-style: normal"><I>Note:</I> Files
|
|
78 moved to the Safe Delete folder are prefixed with a six digit number
|

82 the delete feature to distinguish which files to remove first when

83 clearing space for new files. The digit counter increments with each

86 location of the folder used by the Safe Delete feature.</P>

112 This will cause image panning speed to gradually accelerate when

115 default is for the mouse wheel to change the image, and to scroll the

116 image when shift is used in combination with the wheel. Enabling this

117 swaps the behavior so that operating the wheel will scroll the image,

118 and holding down shift will change the image.</P>

121 <P><U>Miscellaneous</U></P>
|
|
122 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in; font-weight: medium"><B>Store keywords
|
|
123 and comments local to source images:</B> When enabled, GQview
|

124 attempts to store metadata such as keywords closer to the source
|
|
125 image. The resulting location is the source image's folder, in a sub
|
|
126 folder with the name "<B>.metadata"</B>. When the image
|
|
127 source folder cannot be written, GQview falls back to saving the
|
|
128 medata in "$HOME/.gqview/metadata".</P>
|
|
129 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Custom similarity threshold</B>:

130 This setting is used by the compare method “similarity
