33 <P>The image pane can be set to automatically change the displayed
|
|
34 image after a period of time, in GQview this is referred to as a
|
|
35 slide show.</P>

38 <P><U>Starting a slide show</U></P>

|
39 <P>A slide show can be started in a number of ways:</P>

41 <LI><P>From the menu bar - open the <B>View</B> menu and select

42 <B>Toggle slide show</B> to toggle the slide show on or off .</P>

43 <LI><P STYLE="font-weight: medium">From the keyboard - press the <B>S</B>

44 key to toggle the slide show on or off.</P>

|

46 an image pane, and select <B>Start slide show</B>, or <B>Stop slide
|

47 show</B>; the text will change depending on the state of the current

52 <P><U>Stopping a slide show</U></P>
|

53 <P>An active slide show can be stopped by using the same functions
|
|
54 available to start one, as they work like a toggle switch. If slide
|

55 show repeat is not enabled in the <A HREF="10_1_general.html">options
|

56 dialog</A>, the slide show will stop when the last image in the
|
|
57 sequence is displayed.</P>

58 <P>Any action that changes the image pane to a new image will stop
|
|
59 the active slide show, with the exception of the methods discussed in
|
|
60 <A HREF="#navigation">Slide show sequence navigation</A>.</P>

63 <P><U>Slide show status</U></P>

64 <P>The main window <A HREF="2_7_status_bar.html">status bar</A> can
|

65 be used to determine when a slide show is active, <B>Slide show</B>
|

66 will be displayed next to the file count field. An individual <A HREF="3_1_image_window.html">Image
|
|
67 Window</A> can also display a slide show, however the status will not
|
|
68 be immediately visible. To determine the slide show status in an
|
|
69 image window, open a context menu by right clicking or using the menu
|
|
70 key, the slide show menu item will reflect the slide show status; if
|
|
71 <B>Start slide show</B> is displayed, no slide show is active,
|
|
72 conversely if <B>Stop slide show</B> is displayed a slide show is
|
|
73 active.</P>

74 <P>When a Slide show is paused, the main window status bar will
|

75 display <B>Paused</B> instead of <B>Slide show</B>. Likewise, the

76 image context menu will display <B>Pause slide show</B> or <B>Continue

81 <P>An active slide show can be paused in two ways:</P>

83 <LI><P>From the keyboard - press the <B>P</B> key while a slide show

86 the slide show, and select <B>Pause slide show</B>, or <B>Continue

92 a slide show</U></P>

93 <P STYLE="font-weight: medium">When a single image is selected, all

94 images in the current folder are included in the slide show. The
|

95 sequence will begin with the current image; however if random slide
|
|
96 shows are enabled, the sequence will begin with a random image from
|
|
97 the list.</P>

99 show, use multiple selection to select the images to include before
|
|
100 starting the slide show.</P>

102 list of images, to do this drag an image from a collection window

103 onto the image pane. Starting a slide show will then include the

104 images from that collection.</P>

106 window, in an <A HREF="3_1_image_window.html">Image Window</A>, the

107 slide show will use all images referenced by that window.</P>
