32 <H1>3.1 Image Window</H1>

33 <P>An image window is a window that displays only the image.</P>
|
|
34 <P>An image window can always be opened from the context menu of all
|
|
35 images and files. Keyboard shortcuts exist for most windows that
|
|
36 display images or files, however the shortcut can vary dependent on
|
|
37 the type of window containing them.</P>

40 <P>The image pane contained in an image window behaves and operates
|
|
41 similar to the image pane of a <A HREF="2_6_image_pane.html">Main
|
|
42 Window</A>. The keyboard shortcuts are the same, and the context menu
|

43 is the same except “Hide file list” is replaced by “Close
|
|
44 window”. The <A HREF="8_1_slideshow.html">slide show</A> and
|
|
45 <A HREF="8_2_fillscreen.html">full screen</A> functions are also
|
|
46 available.</P>

49 <P><U>Navigation</U></P>
|

50 <P>When the image window contains a list of images or is linked to a
|
|
51 collection, the displayed image can be changed forward or backward in
|
|
52 the list with the respective PageDown and PageUp keys. In addition,
|
|
53 all navigation methods for the mouse and keyboard are similar to that
|
|
54 of the image pane of a <A HREF="2_6_image_pane.html">Main Window</A>.</P>

57 <P><U>Changing the image</U></P>
|
|
58 <P>To change the contents of an image window, drop the items onto the
|
|
59 window with drag and drop. The dropped item can be one or more files,
|
|
60 folders, or an image from a collection window:</P>
|

61 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in">One or more <B>files</B>: The image
|
|
62 window will display the first image; the list of dropped images can
|
|
63 be navigated similar to a main window's image pane.</P>
|
|
64 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in">One or more <B>folders</B>: When the
|
|
65 dropped list of items includes a folder, a menu will appear allowing
|
|
66 to skip the folders, add their contents, or add their contents
|
|
67 recursively. After choosing from the menu the requested files will be
|
|
68 added to the image window.</P>

69 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in">Image from a <B>collection</B>: The
|
|
70 image window will change to display the image and become linked to
|
|
71 the collection containing the image. Images in the collection can
|
|
72 then be navigated and viewed from the image window.</P>

73 <P>Changing the image window by dropping a new item onto it will
|
|
74 cause the previous list of images or linked collection to be
|
|
75 discarded.</P>

76 <P>To update the image display in the event that the source file has
|

77 changed, press the R key.</P>

80 <P><U>Information Overlay</U></P>
|

81 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in">A small overlay can be turned on and
|
|
82 off by pressing the I key. This overlay displays the image file name,
|
|
83 dimensions, file date, and file size. The count of the current image
|
|
84 and of all images contained by the window are also displayed in
|
|
85 parenthesis. When the window is linked to a collection, the
|
|
86 collection title will also appear in the overlay in italics above the
|
|
87 file name.</P>
