4 Luke: We have finally managed to get 2.0.0 out the door, after nearly
5 but not quite 2 years of effort and fustration. No one regrets more
6 than I that we were unable to make any of betas 3-6 the actual release.
7 But at long last, it is out, and life can return to a more normal
8 state. There were many tough calls to be made in the last 2 years.
9 Not everyone has agreed with the resulting decisions, that is un-
10 fortunate, but unavoidable. Suffice it to say that despite what
11 some users appear to think, a ton of thought, argument, discussion,
12 and experimentation has gone into this release. This release
13 builds on many years of experience, both as developers writing the
14 code, users using it, and in supporting other users. I hope that
15 those who download and install this will give it a fair shot, and
16 attempt to avoid knee-jerk reactions.
