293 | 21 Rob: Go Watch `Road Trip'. |
22 | |
170 | 23 0.9.15: |
219 | 24 Hey boy's and girls. There's not much to say here this time. |
25 We're loving Southern California, the new job's going great. We just
26 got our company website up and the product development is going pretty
27 smooth. Life's pretty sweet now.
28 | |
29 We've hacked up all kinds of goodies for you in 0.9.15. There's
30 some file transfer (receive) support for those of you who have been
31 wanting it for a while. There's some other misc. goodies tossed in as
32 well. Enjoy!! Oh yeah, we need a new website. Come up with a sweet
33 design and get in touch with me. The current site is at:
34 http://www.marko.net/gaim
35 | |
36 Thanks much! | |
37 | |
170 | 38 |
76 | 39 0.9.14: |
104 | 40 Well, there's a few random hacks and fixes in here, along with |
41 a little suprise. You guessed it, kiddos, support for plugins! Happy
42 hacking! | |
76 | 43 |
56 | 44 0.9.13: |
69 | 45 Not much to say for this release. Bug fixes, That's all. Look |
46 for the goodies I promised in 0.9.13 to appear in 0.9.14 which should be
47 released very soon now.
56 | 48 |
71 | 49 By the way, our CVS is now hosted over at source forge. Go check |
50 it out at http://www.sourceforge.net. Please check there before submitting
51 any bug reports (You can read our CVS comments to see if we have fixed any
52 problems). | |
53 | |
7 | 54 0.9.12: |
25 | 55 Well guys, looks like we got some nifty things in this version. |
56 TrueType Fonts are supported for those XFSTT buffs out there (or whatever
57 else you use). A crap load of those plaguing memory leaks have FINALLY been
58 fixed. My brother, Jeramey, and a new friend Peter Teichan helped stomp
59 those babies out. A rad guy by the name of Eric Warmenhoven has been
60 really sweet lately and has all but rewritten the Gnome Applet support :).
61 He submitted patch after patch. I finally got annoyed with him (just kidding bud)
62 and gave him CVS access. Look for Gnome Applet support in Gaim to start improving.
63 That's about all for now. I wanted to get this release out there. File Receive
64 support will be in 0.9.13 which is due out soon.
7 | 65 |
0 | 66 0.9.11: |
67 Jeramey got a new Comfy Chair! Its very very comfy! Whee!
68 Jim also had a little hyper-drunken moment and started hacking away at
69 a new configuration format for GAIM. Looks like we're running .gaimrc
70 version 1 now. Gotta love it. I got bored and hacked in a couple font
71 properties that will, in time, contain more features. That's about it
72 for this version -- cept for that memory leak we fixed. Shush! We're
73 not plumbers! -- rob | |
74 | |
75 ** Extra special update **
76 | |
77 Well guys, it looks like we all stopped working on gaim, moved to California,
78 and took up a new job. Don't worry though, those beach bums out here havent
79 worn off on us yet. I've decided to pick up the Gaim torch myself and continue
80 development ont he prohect. Hopefully we wont have any more five month braks in
81 the project. Sorry about that, guys :)
82 | |
83 0.9.10: | |
84 Umm. Dont ask. Silly memory leak. For those of you who
85 wondered, you were losing about 256 bytes every 25 seconds for each
86 person you have on your contact list. Make fun of us. Better yet ..
87 Send us beer. We'll do better :)
88 | |
89 0.9.9: | |
90 Welp, All of you boys and girls who run Mandrake and have some
91 problems with GAIM working properly, please check out the FAQ file. It
92 contains a nice fix submitted by one of our users. I hope this works for
93 you guys! | |
94 Jim appears to have intoxicated himself. This is, as always, a
95 Good Thing (tm). His late-night adventure with the liquid-bread food group
96 lead to the birth of a nice little feature called `The Lag-O-Meter'. Dont
97 ask, just try it out :). It is pretty pointless if you have a super-fast
98 connection but if you are a modem user, like many of us are, then try it out.
99 There's also some idle preferences and some other little random
100 bug fixes. Check'em out yo :)
101 | |
102 0.9.8: | |
103 Get Along Lil' Doggies. Heh. Looks like we have yet another new
104 version of gaim for you guys to play with. Be gentle now, it has a few
105 new fetures. The HTML widget is now more robust and we have *da da da*
106 HTTP proxy support.
107 Oh By The Way, Do not pay too much attention to what we are doing
108 with this release. We are all a little bit happy tonight. You must love
109 life. This is a special release of gaim. We will be releasing some wonderful
110 photographs soon .. or perhaps if we get the bloody webcam working then we
111 will take a couple of quick snapshots.
112 Looks like the GAIM developers convention (cool name huh) that we
113 had this weekend in Auburn, AL went wonderfully :). yum yum yum. Hahahah. Oh
114 by the way. Beware of insecure rednecks in the deli. Bad things.
115 In (non)related news, Jeramey could not successfully slaughter the
116 one pound hamburger that he ordered. (I think he could have done it but he
117 wasn't feeling very well at the time).
118 Oh Yes, New Logo Too :) You likes? Thanks, Naru!
119 Just a little side-note: it looks like we didnt make the release that
120 we had expected during the Gaim Convention. Maybe we partied too much? I am
121 not sure. I remember watching the sun rise before I went to bed, though.
122 Oh well. Here's your release! Enjoy!
123 By The Way, we have uploaded our party pictures to a website.
124 http://www.dorky.net/gaim/party/ They are nothing spectacular but I hope you
125 enjoy them! :). | |
126 | |
127 0.9.7: | |
128 Well, boys and girls, it's that time again! Yup, time for the good
129 release fairy to come bless us with her infinite wisdom and divine presence.
130 Umm, yeah, something like that. Anyways, this release has several little
131 "bad" network fixes (as Jim likes to say) and a couple touch-ups to a few
132 other features. It also features preliminary oscar support. Thanks to Jim
133 and Adam ("the libfaim guy") hehe :) We have also corrected a problem with
134 gaim not wainting to correctly save your password if you have an underscore
135 in it. Thanks to w1za7d for pointing out the underscore problem. ' and \
136 have also been fixed in passwords. :o)
137 | |
138 0.9.6: | |
139 Sorry about the little segfaulting bugs in the past release. Rob
140 is stupid. :). Anyways, they have been patched up and a couple new features
141 have been added. I hope you guys enjoy.
142 | |
143 0.9.5: | |
144 Well we added a myriad of new features to this release. (A lot of
145 small buggie fixes too.) If you need a detailed list just check out the
146 ChangeLog. We now have a new webpage design and have added a FAQ to the
147 distribution. Before coming to us with any problems please take a quick
148 look through the FAQ to make sure we havent already covered your question.
149 Also, thanks to our beloved Web Monkey, FlynOrange, we have all
150 learned the true power of foam weapons, slinkies, and whoopie cushions. Hmm
151 gotta love those pranks, eh?
152 | |
153 0.8.0: | |
154 Well, just starting the NEWS file. I'll try to remember what's new
155 from the last version. Hmmm. BIG code reorg. Import/export, buddy pounce
156 among the major new features. Autoconf script too, which is a big win.
157 Apologies to those who submitted patches which haven't made it in.. I
158 promise, the next version! This code reorg took up a lot of my time, and I
159 want to get it out there.
160 |
