Apparently the .mtn-ignore patterns are regular expressions. This means that if you add "POTFILES" it will also ignore "POTFILES.in" and "POTFILES.skip". I corrected several entries by putting a $ at the end. I'm not sure if we should do that for everything or not. Also, I added some missing patterns here.
