jabber: Add a bunch of g_return_if_fail checks to the BoB code (Entirely untested, but I asked Marcus to double-check them)

You can also generate this documentation locally by installing
doxygen and graphviz dot, then running "make docs" in the
source tree.  The documentation will be in the docs/html directory.
