33 <P>The main window consists of four areas, the <A HREF="2_5_folder_pane.html">folder
|
|
|
34 pane</A>, <A HREF="2_4_file_pane.html">file pane</A>, <A HREF="2_6_image_pane.html">image
|
|
|
35 pane</A>, and the <A HREF="2_7_status_bar.html">status bar</A>. The
|
|
|
36 status bar is always at the bottom of the window. The three remaining
|
|
|
37 areas, or panes, can be arranged and sized by the user.</P>
|
|
|
38 <P><U>Selecting the location of each pane</U></P>
|
|
|
39 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in">The arrangement of the folder, file,
|
|
|
40 and image pane is selected on the <A HREF="10_3_window.html">Windows
|
|
|
41 tab</A> of the Options window. There are four choices for the layout,
|
|
|
42 the difference is that each has the larger pane in a different
|
|
|
43 location: right, bottom, left, and top.</P>
|
|
|
44 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in">The order in which the panes are
|
|
|
45 filled is determined by the three row list located below the layout
|
|
|
46 selection. The three numbered rows correspond to the three numbered
|
|
|
47 regions of the selected layout, to change the order of the list drag
|
|
|
48 a row to the desired location within the list. To drag a row move the
|
|
|
49 mouse over the selected row, press and hold the primary mouse button,
|
|
|
50 then drag the row to the desired location and release the button.</P>
|
|
|
51 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in; text-decoration: none"><I>Note: In the
|
|
|
52 options window the file and image panes are labeled similarly,
|
|
|
53 however the folder pane is labeled as tools.</I></P>

|
|
54 <P><U>Changing the size of a pane</U></P>
|
|
|
55 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in">Between the panes of the main window
|
|
|
56 are two dividers that can be moved with the mouse to adjust the size
|
|
|
57 of each pane. Press and hold the primary button, then move the
|
|
|
58 divider to the desired location and release the button.</P>
|
|
|
59 <P><B>Folder pane</B></P>
|
|
|
60 <P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in">The <A HREF="2_5_folder_pane.html">folder
|
|
|
61 pane</A> contains the menu bar, tool bar, path entry, and folder
|
|
|
62 list. The list can be set to display the sub folders of the active
|
|
|
63 folder or a tree that starts with the root folder and contains all
|
|
|
64 folders in the file system.</P>

65 <P><B>File pane</B></P>
|
|
|

67 pane</A> lists the images contained in the active folder. The file
|
|

68 pane can be set to display as a vertical list or an icon view.</P>
