ok. messages work. transports sort of work (you'll sign into them if you have them, but you won't see them and you can't add or remove them). resource is not a part of buddy's names, which is a very very big plus, since it means things will work incredibly well now. at some point the resource may be added back somehow but if it is it won't be part of the name.

1199 | 44 Rob: Hey guys! Guess what!? Yup, you're correct! It's the pre1 |
45 release of 0.11.0. We have all sorts of goodies in this release!
46 Check out the ChangeLog file. As always if you find any bugs,
47 please report them on www.sourceforge.net/projects/gaim/

49 You may find several small bugs as this is still a prerelease.

1199 | 51 You may want to note that my IRC plugin does not have full |
52 functionality as of yet. All of the important / commands will be
53 added before the final release. Also, if someone could send me
54 some good buddylist pixmaps for the irc plugin then I'd much
55 appreciate it. Thanks to everyone who made this new release possible!

1195 | 62 Eric: So what was Yay! For Gaim!? Yay was the codename for the |
63 Yahoo plugin. The whole point of all of these changes was I wanted to
64 make a proof-of-concept plugin that would let Gaim sign into Yahoo. It
65 turned out to be pretty much impossible with the old code. So,
66 Rob and I hacked gaim so we could do just that. There's now a whole new
67 class of plugins, Protocol Plugins, that let users dynamically add new
68 protocols to Gaim. Just load the plugin, and create a new account that
69 uses that protocol, and you're set! Yay! (Oscar and TOC are both still
70 static. Gaim is, after all, primarily an AIM client.)

293 | 236 Rob: Go Watch `Road Trip'. |
237 | |
170 | 238 0.9.15: |
219 | 239 Hey boy's and girls. There's not much to say here this time. |
240 We're loving Southern California, the new job's going great. We just
241 got our company website up and the product development is going pretty
242 smooth. Life's pretty sweet now.
243 | |
244 We've hacked up all kinds of goodies for you in 0.9.15. There's
245 some file transfer (receive) support for those of you who have been
246 wanting it for a while. There's some other misc. goodies tossed in as
247 well. Enjoy!! Oh yeah, we need a new website. Come up with a sweet
248 design and get in touch with me. The current site is at:
249 http://www.marko.net/gaim
250 | |
251 Thanks much! | |
252 | |

76 | 254 0.9.14: |
104 | 255 Well, there's a few random hacks and fixes in here, along with |
256 a little suprise. You guessed it, kiddos, support for plugins! Happy
257 hacking! | |
76 | 258 |
56 | 259 0.9.13: |
69 | 260 Not much to say for this release. Bug fixes, That's all. Look |
261 for the goodies I promised in 0.9.13 to appear in 0.9.14 which should be
262 released very soon now.
56 | 263 |
71 | 264 By the way, our CVS is now hosted over at source forge. Go check |
265 it out at http://www.sourceforge.net. Please check there before submitting
266 any bug reports (You can read our CVS comments to see if we have fixed any
267 problems). | |
268 | |
7 | 269 0.9.12: |
25 | 270 Well guys, looks like we got some nifty things in this version. |
271 TrueType Fonts are supported for those XFSTT buffs out there (or whatever
272 else you use). A crap load of those plaguing memory leaks have FINALLY been
273 fixed. My brother, Jeramey, and a new friend Peter Teichan helped stomp
274 those babies out. A rad guy by the name of Eric Warmenhoven has been
275 really sweet lately and has all but rewritten the Gnome Applet support :).
276 He submitted patch after patch. I finally got annoyed with him (just kidding bud)
277 and gave him CVS access. Look for Gnome Applet support in Gaim to start improving.
278 That's about all for now. I wanted to get this release out there. File Receive
279 support will be in 0.9.13 which is due out soon.
7 | 280 |
0 | 281 0.9.11: |
282 Jeramey got a new Comfy Chair! Its very very comfy! Whee!
283 Jim also had a little hyper-drunken moment and started hacking away at
284 a new configuration format for GAIM. Looks like we're running .gaimrc
285 version 1 now. Gotta love it. I got bored and hacked in a couple font
286 properties that will, in time, contain more features. That's about it
287 for this version -- cept for that memory leak we fixed. Shush! We're
288 not plumbers! -- rob
289 | |
290 ** Extra special update **
291 | |
292 Well guys, it looks like we all stopped working on gaim, moved to California,
293 and took up a new job. Don't worry though, those beach bums out here havent
294 worn off on us yet. I've decided to pick up the Gaim torch myself and continue
295 development ont he prohect. Hopefully we wont have any more five month braks in
296 the project. Sorry about that, guys :)
297 | |
298 0.9.10: | |
299 Umm. Dont ask. Silly memory leak. For those of you who
300 wondered, you were losing about 256 bytes every 25 seconds for each
301 person you have on your contact list. Make fun of us. Better yet ..
302 Send us beer. We'll do better :)
303 | |
304 0.9.9: | |
305 Welp, All of you boys and girls who run Mandrake and have some
306 problems with GAIM working properly, please check out the FAQ file. It
307 contains a nice fix submitted by one of our users. I hope this works for
308 you guys! | |
309 Jim appears to have intoxicated himself. This is, as always, a
310 Good Thing (tm). His late-night adventure with the liquid-bread food group
311 lead to the birth of a nice little feature called `The Lag-O-Meter'. Dont
312 ask, just try it out :). It is pretty pointless if you have a super-fast
313 connection but if you are a modem user, like many of us are, then try it out.
314 There's also some idle preferences and some other little random
315 bug fixes. Check'em out yo :)
316 | |
317 0.9.8: | |
318 Get Along Lil' Doggies. Heh. Looks like we have yet another new
319 version of gaim for you guys to play with. Be gentle now, it has a few
320 new fetures. The HTML widget is now more robust and we have *da da da*
321 HTTP proxy support.
322 Oh By The Way, Do not pay too much attention to what we are doing
323 with this release. We are all a little bit happy tonight. You must love
324 life. This is a special release of gaim. We will be releasing some wonderful
325 photographs soon .. or perhaps if we get the bloody webcam working then we
326 will take a couple of quick snapshots.
327 Looks like the GAIM developers convention (cool name huh) that we
328 had this weekend in Auburn, AL went wonderfully :). yum yum yum. Hahahah. Oh
329 by the way. Beware of insecure rednecks in the deli. Bad things.
330 In (non)related news, Jeramey could not successfully slaughter the
331 one pound hamburger that he ordered. (I think he could have done it but he
332 wasn't feeling very well at the time).
333 Oh Yes, New Logo Too :) You likes? Thanks, Naru!
334 Just a little side-note: it looks like we didnt make the release that
335 we had expected during the Gaim Convention. Maybe we partied too much? I am
336 not sure. I remember watching the sun rise before I went to bed, though.
337 Oh well. Here's your release! Enjoy!
338 By The Way, we have uploaded our party pictures to a website.
339 http://www.dorky.net/gaim/party/ They are nothing spectacular but I hope you
340 enjoy them! :). | |
341 | |
342 0.9.7: | |
343 Well, boys and girls, it's that time again! Yup, time for the good
344 release fairy to come bless us with her infinite wisdom and divine presence.
345 Umm, yeah, something like that. Anyways, this release has several little
346 "bad" network fixes (as Jim likes to say) and a couple touch-ups to a few
347 other features. It also features preliminary oscar support. Thanks to Jim
348 and Adam ("the libfaim guy") hehe :) We have also corrected a problem with
349 gaim not wainting to correctly save your password if you have an underscore
350 in it. Thanks to w1za7d for pointing out the underscore problem. ' and \
351 have also been fixed in passwords. :o)
352 | |
353 0.9.6: | |
354 Sorry about the little segfaulting bugs in the past release. Rob
355 is stupid. :). Anyways, they have been patched up and a couple new features
356 have been added. I hope you guys enjoy.
357 | |
358 0.9.5: | |
359 Well we added a myriad of new features to this release. (A lot of
360 small buggie fixes too.) If you need a detailed list just check out the
361 ChangeLog. We now have a new webpage design and have added a FAQ to the
362 distribution. Before coming to us with any problems please take a quick
363 look through the FAQ to make sure we havent already covered your question.
364 Also, thanks to our beloved Web Monkey, FlynOrange, we have all
365 learned the true power of foam weapons, slinkies, and whoopie cushions. Hmm
366 gotta love those pranks, eh?
367 | |
368 0.8.0: | |
369 Well, just starting the NEWS file. I'll try to remember what's new
370 from the last version. Hmmm. BIG code reorg. Import/export, buddy pounce
371 among the major new features. Autoconf script too, which is a big win.
372 Apologies to those who submitted patches which haven't made it in.. I
373 promise, the next version! This code reorg took up a lot of my time, and I
374 want to get it out there.
375 |
