| 170 | 16 0.9.15: |
| 219 | 17 Hey boy's and girls. There's not much to say here this time. |
| 18 We're loving Southern California, the new job's going great. We just | |
| 19 got our company website up and the product development is going pretty | |
| 20 smooth. Life's pretty sweet now. | |
| 21 | |
| 22 We've hacked up all kinds of goodies for you in 0.9.15. There's | |
| 23 some file transfer (receive) support for those of you who have been | |
| 24 wanting it for a while. There's some other misc. goodies tossed in as | |
| 25 well. Enjoy!! Oh yeah, we need a new website. Come up with a sweet | |
| 26 design and get in touch with me. The current site is at: | |
| 27 http://www.marko.net/gaim | |
| 28 | |
| 29 Thanks much! | |
| 30 | |
| 170 | 31 |
| 76 | 32 0.9.14: |
| 104 | 33 Well, there's a few random hacks and fixes in here, along with |
| 34 a little suprise. You guessed it, kiddos, support for plugins! Happy | |
| 35 hacking! | |
| 76 | 36 |
| 56 | 37 0.9.13: |
| 69 | 38 Not much to say for this release. Bug fixes, That's all. Look |
| 39 for the goodies I promised in 0.9.13 to appear in 0.9.14 which should be | |
| 40 released very soon now. | |
| 56 | 41 |
| 71 | 42 By the way, our CVS is now hosted over at source forge. Go check |
| 43 it out at http://www.sourceforge.net. Please check there before submitting | |
| 44 any bug reports (You can read our CVS comments to see if we have fixed any | |
| 45 problems). | |
| 46 | |
| 7 | 47 0.9.12: |
| 25 | 48 Well guys, looks like we got some nifty things in this version. |
| 49 TrueType Fonts are supported for those XFSTT buffs out there (or whatever | |
| 50 else you use). A crap load of those plaguing memory leaks have FINALLY been | |
| 51 fixed. My brother, Jeramey, and a new friend Peter Teichan helped stomp | |
| 52 those babies out. A rad guy by the name of Eric Warmenhoven has been | |
| 53 really sweet lately and has all but rewritten the Gnome Applet support :). | |
| 54 He submitted patch after patch. I finally got annoyed with him (just kidding bud) | |
| 55 and gave him CVS access. Look for Gnome Applet support in Gaim to start improving. | |
| 56 That's about all for now. I wanted to get this release out there. File Receive | |
| 57 support will be in 0.9.13 which is due out soon. | |
| 7 | 58 |
| 0 | 59 0.9.11: |
| 60 Jeramey got a new Comfy Chair! Its very very comfy! Whee! | |
| 61 Jim also had a little hyper-drunken moment and started hacking away at | |
| 62 a new configuration format for GAIM. Looks like we're running .gaimrc | |
| 63 version 1 now. Gotta love it. I got bored and hacked in a couple font | |
| 64 properties that will, in time, contain more features. That's about it | |
| 65 for this version -- cept for that memory leak we fixed. Shush! We're | |
| 66 not plumbers! -- rob | |
| 67 | |
| 68 ** Extra special update ** | |
| 69 | |
| 70 Well guys, it looks like we all stopped working on gaim, moved to California, | |
| 71 and took up a new job. Don't worry though, those beach bums out here havent | |
| 72 worn off on us yet. I've decided to pick up the Gaim torch myself and continue | |
| 73 development ont he prohect. Hopefully we wont have any more five month braks in | |
| 74 the project. Sorry about that, guys :) | |
| 75 | |
| 76 0.9.10: | |
| 77 Umm. Dont ask. Silly memory leak. For those of you who | |
| 78 wondered, you were losing about 256 bytes every 25 seconds for each | |
| 79 person you have on your contact list. Make fun of us. Better yet .. | |
| 80 Send us beer. We'll do better :) | |
| 81 | |
| 82 0.9.9: | |
| 83 Welp, All of you boys and girls who run Mandrake and have some | |
| 84 problems with GAIM working properly, please check out the FAQ file. It | |
| 85 contains a nice fix submitted by one of our users. I hope this works for | |
| 86 you guys! | |
| 87 Jim appears to have intoxicated himself. This is, as always, a | |
| 88 Good Thing (tm). His late-night adventure with the liquid-bread food group | |
| 89 lead to the birth of a nice little feature called `The Lag-O-Meter'. Dont | |
| 90 ask, just try it out :). It is pretty pointless if you have a super-fast | |
| 91 connection but if you are a modem user, like many of us are, then try it out. | |
| 92 There's also some idle preferences and some other little random | |
| 93 bug fixes. Check'em out yo :) | |
| 94 | |
| 95 0.9.8: | |
| 96 Get Along Lil' Doggies. Heh. Looks like we have yet another new | |
| 97 version of gaim for you guys to play with. Be gentle now, it has a few | |
| 98 new fetures. The HTML widget is now more robust and we have *da da da* | |
| 99 HTTP proxy support. | |
| 100 Oh By The Way, Do not pay too much attention to what we are doing | |
| 101 with this release. We are all a little bit happy tonight. You must love | |
| 102 life. This is a special release of gaim. We will be releasing some wonderful | |
| 103 photographs soon .. or perhaps if we get the bloody webcam working then we | |
| 104 will take a couple of quick snapshots. | |
| 105 Looks like the GAIM developers convention (cool name huh) that we | |
| 106 had this weekend in Auburn, AL went wonderfully :). yum yum yum. Hahahah. Oh | |
| 107 by the way. Beware of insecure rednecks in the deli. Bad things. | |
| 108 In (non)related news, Jeramey could not successfully slaughter the | |
| 109 one pound hamburger that he ordered. (I think he could have done it but he | |
| 110 wasn't feeling very well at the time). | |
| 111 Oh Yes, New Logo Too :) You likes? Thanks, Naru! | |
| 112 Just a little side-note: it looks like we didnt make the release that | |
| 113 we had expected during the Gaim Convention. Maybe we partied too much? I am | |
| 114 not sure. I remember watching the sun rise before I went to bed, though. | |
| 115 Oh well. Here's your release! Enjoy! | |
| 116 By The Way, we have uploaded our party pictures to a website. | |
| 117 http://www.dorky.net/gaim/party/ They are nothing spectacular but I hope you | |
| 118 enjoy them! :). | |
| 119 | |
| 120 0.9.7: | |
| 121 Well, boys and girls, it's that time again! Yup, time for the good | |
| 122 release fairy to come bless us with her infinite wisdom and divine presence. | |
| 123 Umm, yeah, something like that. Anyways, this release has several little | |
| 124 "bad" network fixes (as Jim likes to say) and a couple touch-ups to a few | |
| 125 other features. It also features preliminary oscar support. Thanks to Jim | |
| 126 and Adam ("the libfaim guy") hehe :) We have also corrected a problem with | |
| 127 gaim not wainting to correctly save your password if you have an underscore | |
| 128 in it. Thanks to w1za7d for pointing out the underscore problem. ' and \ | |
| 129 have also been fixed in passwords. :o) | |
| 130 | |
| 131 0.9.6: | |
| 132 Sorry about the little segfaulting bugs in the past release. Rob | |
| 133 is stupid. :). Anyways, they have been patched up and a couple new features | |
| 134 have been added. I hope you guys enjoy. | |
| 135 | |
| 136 0.9.5: | |
| 137 Well we added a myriad of new features to this release. (A lot of | |
| 138 small buggie fixes too.) If you need a detailed list just check out the | |
| 139 ChangeLog. We now have a new webpage design and have added a FAQ to the | |
| 140 distribution. Before coming to us with any problems please take a quick | |
| 141 look through the FAQ to make sure we havent already covered your question. | |
| 142 Also, thanks to our beloved Web Monkey, FlynOrange, we have all | |
| 143 learned the true power of foam weapons, slinkies, and whoopie cushions. Hmm | |
| 144 gotta love those pranks, eh? | |
| 145 | |
| 146 0.8.0: | |
| 147 Well, just starting the NEWS file. I'll try to remember what's new | |
| 148 from the last version. Hmmm. BIG code reorg. Import/export, buddy pounce | |
| 149 among the major new features. Autoconf script too, which is a big win. | |
| 150 Apologies to those who submitted patches which haven't made it in.. I | |
| 151 promise, the next version! This code reorg took up a lot of my time, and I | |
| 152 want to get it out there. | |
| 153 |
